For some reason, when I don't have time or energy to think about styling, I always end of looking like my Sunday church outfits....very drab and granny-like. (Yes, this is a true story, haha).
I was thinking about tossing out this old neon yellow-green crochet cardigan and this outdated flowery skirt to Goodwill, but then I decided maybe I can make them new again! After all, neon and floral are somewhat the trend right now. With my creative juices running high, I came up with this:
1) Black skinny jeans to the rescue! They always seem to do the trick in making any top look more modern and sleek. I pat myself on the back for wearing a cardigan over a cardigan, creating a new top! And I learned the key to wearing neon is to wear it with neutrals or blacks.
2) Normally, I would try to style my floral skirt with a top and accessories to match the colors in my skirt, but this time, I thought outside the box. I tried the "unexpected." Bold stripe top and a
bag in a color not seen anywhere on my outfit....and wala, I achieved an
anthropolgie-esque look!
I should try to spruce up some more items in my closet! Especially since I'm on a money-saving mode lately. Have you turned something old into something new lately?

Great post-makeover looks! I like how you chose pieces that are currently "in" to modernize each outfit; skinny jeans on the left and stripes on the right.
Every once in awhile, I'll reach into the deepest end of my closet and bring out items that I had forgotten I owned, hahaha. Then I'll hold it up against other pieces in my closet to see if I can find a new combination. I think it's time I try that again :)
