Because you're worth it!

My favorite cosmetic store Ulta is having a BUY 2 GET 1 FREE sale on Revlon products (sale ends March 10). I hauled some fun things to share:
Isn't Dreamer a pretty periwinkle blue?
Posh is a jade green that I think will be trendy this summer.
Grey nail color has been quite popular for awhile, but I haven't tried it until now. I'm in awe how nice this Timeless shade looks on my nails. My favorite of the three:
Can't wait till summer-sandal weather to show off these colors on my toes :)
  • When I was browsing Youtube lipstick reviews, I came across tons of positive reviews on these Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter. I just had to try it out for myself, especially since I found the E.L.F. Mineral Lipstick, purchased last time, annoyingly drying on my lips. The Revlon lip butter sounded promising for moisture and color. Here's the shades I tried:
Candy Apple - this is definitely more a "true red" that I was looking for. The only problem with this red, is that it brings out the yellow in my teeth (makes me want to get my teeth whitened).

Cherry Tart - is very similar to the Candy Apple red, but a bit pinker, so less harsh on the teeth. This one contains some sparkles so the color felt more muted than the Candy Apple.

Berry Smoothie - is a pretty mauve-berry shade with a slight gold pearl shimmer. I definitely think this is my favorite shade of the bunch.

Pink Truffle - is a neutral brown-pink that resembles my own natural lip color. The shade actually reminds me of the E.L.F. mineral lipstick in Bare Brown.
The good: The colors do look pretty and the color names sound so yummy! Now I understand why all the reviewers can't just buy one, but a bunch! (With a good sale, I will definitely pick up some more colors.) There's no overwhelming chemical taste/smell, which is rare for low-end products. I find these more moisturizing than the E.L.F ones, but not perfect as explained below.

The bad: It's moisturizing, but it's sticky-feeling, which is probably due to the gloss it contains. It actually feels a lot like a lipstick version of the popular Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss (which is a good thing if you like the lip gloss). Also, since the formula is glossy, I find it blobs out and is hard for precise application. A lip-liner or applying with a lip brush would probably help the issue. Also, the packaging is a bit clumsy when trying to take the long cap off.

Overall, I don't think there exists a comfortable-feeling lipstick with great color, so I'm keeping the Candy Apple until I find a better true red. The Pink Truffle is now going to replace my E.L.F Bare Brown for everyday wear. The Berrie Smoothie will be great with my purple outfits. I'm only going to toss out the Cherry Tart because the sparkles annoy me...when the color rubs off, it leaves behind all these silver specs on my lips....I don't know why I just find that weird.

And that wraps up my review. What are your favorite Revlon products?

thanks for visiting my blog! I barely wear nail polish, except the toenails in the summer, but I always love to stare at the nail polish isle for all the fun and pretty colors! They sure brought out a lot of nice colors this spring....I think I now want something peach! and I still haven't found the perfect shade of turquoise/aqua for my collection :)
