Fashion Trends for Spring Break 2023 Review

So many interesting fashion trends this Spring! I'm on the fence with adding these pieces to my wardrobe so thought I do a bit of a review to help me decide:

1. Baggy Cargo Pants:

1, 2

Pro: reminds me of my high school days in the late 90's, so there is a youthful/cool-girl vibe

Con: these cargo pockets are usually non-functional and adds bulk to storage and takes longer to dry after washing. I guess the idea of the pockets could be useful for travel-wear if one wanted to hide things in the various pockets, but can also be a negative thing if one forgets what one puts in each pocket since there are so many. 

2. Open-knit Crochet Fabrics:

Pro: Looks sexy without being too showy, great as a swimsuit coverup. 

Con: For those of us who gets cold easily, the open knit can be too breezy, also snagging potential is high. 

3. Textured Bubble Knit or Popcorn Fabrics: 

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Pro: This is fun and quirky, and gives off a girly-fashionista vibe. Great for editorial pictures. The textured fabric is usually stretchy, care-free that washes and dries fast (due to polyester content). 

Con: Although polyester is wrinkle-care-free, it can feel sweltering, icky or itchy on the skin with the texture.

Sheer Sleeves Trend for Holiday 2022

There's been some exciting new fashion trends that I'm loving right now. One of these is the "long sheer sleeve" sweaters and tops. I was drawn to this festive detail 10 years ago and still into them today. Also being older now means being more self-conscious about the arms, so these sleeves are a perfect compromise for being confident yet demure at the same time.

I can't believe summer vacation is over now that kids are going back to school, but with the weather remaining in the 90-100 degrees F, it is definitely still summer, and we got one month left of it! Flare Leggings and Baggy Tee Look

Ever since I've converted to working-from-home instead of in the office, my wardrobe has changed to mostly PJ's. There's not a better feeling than rolling out of bed and working in comfortable clothes. My most recent obsession is stretchy flare leggings paired with baggy T-shirts. Loose cotton T-shirts are the best in keeping cool this summer and the flare leggings makes it more fun and rocker-chic...like these inspirations from Instagram...

Purple Puffer Trend

I've been seeing dashes of this vibrant grape-blue-purple hue on winter puffer coats and I'm all in, especially since purple is my favorite color! However, I've been hesitant in wearing purple outerwear to avoid appearing like an adult who shops in the kid's section, but this cool-tone purple hue might be the answer to a more grown-up look. I don't do winter snow resorts, but if I did, I'm totally going to try to get this kind of purple-sporty look!
