Asymmetrical trend right now

Asymmetrical lines are evidently in, especially if there's some lace in it. I'm digging these looks from ASOS:

This dress sold out!

Easy breezy boxy tee with some lace...yasss!

I would totally wear this outfit

This lace cami outfit sums of everything that a cool girl would wear right now!

Ok, so pillbox hat style is having a moment, and I love it! And wear it on a slant of course.

Even though this hat is not really practical for screening sun or hiding bad hair day, I like it for the fashion statement and how it shows off the earrings very well.

Are you into the slanted or asymmetrical trend?

Bedding Inspired Outfits

I've been loving outerwear inspired by bedding materials like quilts and blankets lately. I really wish I was craftier and more skillful to actually repurpose old bedding material and turn them into fashionable jackets. That would be the dream to be homey, thrifty, yet environmentally chic and fashionable at the same time.

Loving these looks from ASOS:

Miss Selfridge blanket stitch cardigan - it is all in the little details like that stitch around the hems

Miss Selfridge blanket stitch borg collar detail jacket - I'm digging the oversize collar trend

ASOS DESIGN volume sleeve quilted bed jacket - I think Elphaba from Wicked is bringing back the Victorian puffy sleeves to 2025-2026! This styling with the loose jeans looks so good!

This jacket is bad-ass chic!

ASOS DESIGN quilted jacket in brown gingham - instead of the obvious patchwork quilted jackets, I've been leaning more towards neutral prints, like this classic gingham that looks festive, yet neutral enough to style with many different outfits.

Object quilted plaid jacket in dark green and navy - this is also a great neutral one in plaid and I love the flap pockets.

Empire Waist Trend on the Rise

I'm so elated that Ariana Grande wore a vintage empire waist gown to the Golden Globes 2025...because we definitely NEED more empire waist dresses on the market for those Bridgerton-theme parties. I honestly been having the toughest time trying to find a quality Regency-inspired dress that does not look cheap and costumey.

Empire waist gowns have probably been unpopular because no one wants to look pregnant, or cause rumors of being pregnant or hiding belly fat, but I believe Bridgerton-theme parties are becoming the norm like wearing ugly holiday sweaters for Christmas parties.  So there is a place for the empire-waist dress for the average person.

Few days after the Golden Globes, another young star Elle Fanning dazzled in this gown at the National Board of Review Awards...
It is giving sweet and sexy babydoll style as well.

Jennifer Lawrence may have started it all when she donned this number last year at the Vanity Fair Oscar's party....even though fashion critics complained it didn't flatter her body, I think her stylist knew she was starting a trend in Hollywood...

Keep them coming!

What I will be wearing in 2025

One of my most worn and favorite essential fashion item of all time is a white tee. It never ceases to inspire me with a new way to style it.

I've been reveling in tennis-inspired outfits lately, which was all the rage in 2024, but the one style that I feel I can continue with in 2025 and beyond is the "sweater vest" over a white tee look. It not only looks fashionably edgy, but is super comfortable and makes sense when the weather is cool, but you don't want to commit to a full stuffy sweater.

The inspiration from 2024:

The edgy way to wear it in 2025:

1. With button-details:

2. With an accent necklace as seen in this J. Crew ad:

3. Make it cool grandpa vibes:

4. Make it colorful:

5. Make it simple:

Which style would you wear?

Fashion Trend Capsule of 2024

So year 2024 is coming to an end, and if I ever look back to what streetstyle fashion trend was special this year....this is what stood out:

Hoodies that hoodies, and crew socks that is visible.

Hoodie, I wear, especially since I work from home and save electricity bill by not turning on the heater during the colder months.

Crew socks was a no for me since I don't like sock tan lines and just not a great look for short legs. But I like the preppy-tennis-vibe it is giving....actually tennis court-style was strong this year what with the logo sweatshirts and tennis skorts...

Bag Charms or Jane Birkinifying your Bag.

I'm especially obsessed with the Miu Miu Beau Bag in cognac....makes the perfect canvas for the bag charms, especially the cozy knit ones! But $3,850....I still cannot fathom paying that much for a bag, granted I like that it is more affordable and more sporty-cute looking than an actual Birkin....but eh...I'll look for a dupe on this.

Are you Jane-Birkinifying your bag?
What is your bag-charm style?

Ruched Sleeve Trend

 This jacket is everything!

It's like a more feminine, fashion-girl version of the member's only jacket that was popular when I was a tween in the 90's.

Beach Pajama Trend for 2023

I'm a huge fan of resort wear and I have been re-inspired ever since I watched the Netflix movie Glass Onion in the wintertime. I had thought the black and white dress from Andi was going to be a hit this summer, but I was partially wrong. The trend that actually kicked off was detective Benoit Blanc's stripe coordinating shirt and shorts ensemble.
I'm not sure what you call this outfit really, but they look like pajamas, so "beach pj's" or matching Hawaiian shirt and shorts set (or even Cuban collar camp shirts...)

Whatever it's called, I love the concept of it being a beach-coverup. The looseness, the fun prints, the variety of ways to wear it, and somehow this menswear style can still look super cute on a female...I'm in!

Currently in my shopping cart:

3, 4

Or mini-skirt version instead of shorts!

Granny Trend Continues with Patchwork Quilted Jackets

Since crochet granny squares are on the way out, I'm expecting to see more granny patchwork quilted items gaining popularity for Fall/Winter 2023-24. Summer is not yet here, so quilted jackets are the last thing on our minds, but I see retailers injecting this idea here and there, testing the waters it seems, letting it be familiar in our minds, so that when the next cold weather comes around, we'll be ready to grab some patchwork outerwear.

The concern is, how to wear this style without looking like a granny? I found these styles to be pleasing:

1. Make it crop length or have a motorcycle jacket cut:

2. Have it cinched in at the waist:

3. Patch it with neutral fabric like khaki, military green, or denim:

Are you thinking of getting something quilted for next cold weather?
