Lilac Sweaters for Different Complexions

I kept seeing lilac or these light purple items advertised sporadically throughout last year and into 2021 as a fresh pop of color, but in reality, most people don't really gravitate towards wearing this hue on a daily basis. Maybe it's too sweet or ultra-feminine for most, but I love how pretty it is in photographs and how it works with many different types of complexions. Lilac is a great special occasion color, perfect for a romantic look for Valentine's day coming up!

Thought these ASOS sweaters have some interesting textures!

Which shade of lilac would you wear?

Come to think of it, any pastel colors would work well for Valentine's Day because it reminds me of sweetheart candies! Ah, remembering the days when we had secret crushes and wondering if the boy who gave you that piece of candy meant what it says "Be Mine!"

Stripe dress and pastel scarves

Yesterday when LOFT had some 50% off sale deals, I debated if I should get the Zig Zag Tiered Dress (since it looks so cute on What Jess Wore). But I waited too long. Now it's back up to only 40% off. Just that little difference, and I decided it's a "no buy" for now. But I may think about it again on the next big sale (if my sizes are still available).

I'm not sure how much wear I would get out of the dress...but it reminds me so much of the beloved Anthropologie Layered Column Dress from back in ~2011 (crazy how I still remember that dress from Confessions of a Call Center Gal). The LOFT dress is a much better length for petites.
Then to accessorize the dress with a dash of pale color, like these pretty pastel-hued scarves at JCP
