Sanditon Season 3 is All About the Earrings

Honestly, the final Sanditon Season 3 was totally cheesy and sloppy in the plot, but at least they have happy endings for all the single ladies in the storyline. But what really inspired me this time, were the EARRINGS!

It all started with our rich heiress Georgiana Lambe being gifted these dainty emerald earrings from her family's estate in Antigua. She wore them in most of the major scenes and even though they are small, they twinkled so beautifully and vibrant in the close-up shots.
The minimalist style makes the emeralds looks rare and expensive, but still perfect for casual and formal occasions.
Another favorite she wore were these dainty ~moonstone? leverback earrings that were for more casual outfits. Love how they glowed in the light.
Also matches well with the pretty seafoam dress.
Of course with her wealthy status, she wore many types of earrings throughout the series. Another memorable set she wore were these bluish ~aquamarine or topaz? ones that really distinguished her from the other characters, in the fact that she has access to some unique gemstones.
Another view of the gorgeous earrings on her.
Continuing with her "dainty" earring styles, I also love the tiny white diamond earrings she wore in her formal daytime outfit.
This was also one of my favorite Georgiana's meticulously tailored outfits and the earrings matched her bonnet perfectly.
Interestingly, on her wedding day to Sons of Africa activist Mr. Otis Molyneux, you see a drastic shift in her earrings to a very plain pearl bead, perhaps to signify her drop in status marrying a worker-class man for love and not for wealth.

Speaking of non-wealthy folks, our main character, Miss Charlotte Heywood, did not wear any jewelry in majority of the scenes, probably to signify her low income farm girl status. The only time we saw her in any jewelry, were for the evening balls. For the most part, her jewelry were unremarkable and possibly borrowed. They don't look as special as the ones Georgiana wears.
Her gemstones are probably made of glass? Kinda boring yeah.
But! on her wedding day to one of the rich people in Sanditon, Mr. Alexander Colbourne, her earrings were a bit more interesting. I love the dainty little pearls, which fits her persona perfectly, coming from a simple background, not needing anything gaudy or showy, but looks pretty and youthful like her countenance.

The final season, we see young Miss Augusta Markham have a glow-up moment, where her outfits, hair, and jewelry were on-point to showcase her noble status as a rich heiress, ready to join society in finding a suitor. Her best look were these orange ~carnelian or amber? earrings that really brought out her complexion. The unique pop of color is perfect for a young adult, and totally something a wealthy rebellious teen would want to wear to stand out of the crowd back in those days.
Love how the earrings catches the light here:
For her evening ball look, where she is eyeing the attention and love of Sanditon's biggest flirt and bad boy, Sir Edward Denham, she wears these grey glass earrings and matching necklace that totally sparkles in the candlelight, where you can tell she is deliberately trying to look more mature to catch the affection of an older man.

Most of the older ladies in Sanditon, like Lady Denham, Lady Montrose, and Lady Susan were also decked out in a lot of jewelry, but they were large, gaudy, and costumey, so none of them appealed to me. But I did notice that the older women wore more darker colored stones like garnet or rubies. Of all the older ladies, there was only one scene where Lady Susan decides she is free to love for love with average-joe, lawyer Samuel Colbourne, she let's her hair down in the wind, and wears these expensive-looking ruby-diamond drop earrings that are a bit daintier than her usual jewelry, signifying she's still rich, but her new man is making her feel young and new again!
Another shot of those gorgeous earrings:
So the takeaway of this whole thing is, smaller and dainty earrings are better.

Diamond Tennis Necklace a Staple in Fashion

I have been more conscious of jewelry lately more than clothing items. Especially since celebrities, fashion influencers, and TV/Movie characters are showing off jewelry better than ever these days! It makes me want to evaluate my current collection of everyday jewelry. Back in 2013, I made a list of timeless "Essential" fashion items including jewelry. Of all the items listed, I think my "station necklace" is losing favor. I realized that I haven't worn my station necklace for several years actually. The reason being that the station necklace is quite annoying, the longer chain length gets caught in things, I am always forgetting to adjust the alignment of the necklace in candid photos (thus having unflattering shots of the necklace being off-center on the chest), and when I try to double-up the necklace for a shorter-length, it feels heavy and choking-like. So I have been contemplating of taking the station necklace off my list and perhaps replacing it with a "diamond tennis necklace".

I've been seeing a repetition of influencers donning this simple diamond tennis necklace in all sorts of outfits, from casual, to fancy, or even swimwear! It seems to elevate the outfit to be more luxurious and edgy! Obviously most of us cannot afford genuine diamond necklaces of this caliber, but luckily affordable cubic zirconia versions are plentiful! One of my favorite influencers, Fashion Jackson recently posted her Amazon find of just $28.88! Click! Ordered.

Here's a collage of the IG feed that influenced me in buying into the tennis necklace trend:

Her Amazon cheapy one looks pretty good to me!

Heart's version is probably real and super expensive!

Spotted on a model for swimwear, and it's not too much at all.

Nell wears her choker style quite often in many of her outfits.

Tina has been wearing her gold version in pretty much everything!

Would you invest in a real diamond tennis necklace?

Celebrities and their Jewels

There's been some amazing colorful jewels circulating on gorgeous celebrities lately, especially with Zendaya leading the pack! Thought I'd document all my favorites here:

Multicolor Gems

Especially the Bulgari red on Anne Hathaway!

Those earrings on Alexandra Daddario!

Mesmerizing blue-violet Pomellato jewels on Grace Elizabeth!

That Cartier necklace on Maude Apatow!
Yay for Hollywood for bringing glamour back!

Station Necklace Obsession

I've been really enjoying watching the sitcom Cougar Town lately. But what I'm obsessed with is the station necklace that the character Jules Cobb wears. She seems to have it on with everything from her pajamas to dressier outfits.
Making a stripe tee more interesting.
Doubled up as a faux-choker style.
Works well with other jewelry layering.

That's it, versatile station necklace on my wishlist!
