Red Stripes Summer Suit

I've heard of Sabrina Carpenter as a household name during her Disney kid days, but really never paid attention to her as a celebrity until now! Thanks to her songs Espresso and the newest Please, Please, Please that is overly used as lip-sync and background sounds on social media these days.

It seems like most child-stars who want to continue in the limelight, have to reinvent themselves into the right kind of diva character to make it as an adult. And Sabrina has accomplished all of that with these right now:

1. Unique hairdo with the curtain bangs that defines her persona (ie. like how we know Ariana Grande for her high ponytail)

2. Having a hot boyfriend....Barry Keoghan is the right choice! He's been slaying on the red carpet too!

3. This retro pin-up girl vibe she is portraying in her newest videos suits her well! It's very Barbie-esque, Dolly Parton-ish, girls-wanna-have-fun mood that is very appealing to showcase the fashions.

4. She's the first young person I've seen who actually rocks the scarf hair covering without looking like a weirdo or babushka grandma. It somehow enhances her sex appeal, which is phenomenal! This outfit at Vogue World last weekend was the bomb!

I adore this beachwear outfit so much!
Always been a dream to wear red and white stripes on a beach!
And thank you Sabrina and Vogue World, for showing that a fellow petite 4'10"
person can strut like any fashion model on the runway!

Botanical Print

I remember when I started joining the blogging community on here, everyone referenced either Atlantic Pacific or 9to5chic for outfit inspirations, and they both still continue to be great influencers! While Atlantic Pacific's style is more colorful and whimsical, Anh from 9to5chic is more neutral and business oriented. However, the most influential outfits from Anh for me are her vacation outfits. For instance, this dress she posted on her IG in 2020, is still stuck in my head today!

This botanical print! Love!

The closest thing I found to this print today is this Tuckernuck Dress:

Please take me away on vacation with this print!

Beach Pajama Trend for 2023

I'm a huge fan of resort wear and I have been re-inspired ever since I watched the Netflix movie Glass Onion in the wintertime. I had thought the black and white dress from Andi was going to be a hit this summer, but I was partially wrong. The trend that actually kicked off was detective Benoit Blanc's stripe coordinating shirt and shorts ensemble.
I'm not sure what you call this outfit really, but they look like pajamas, so "beach pj's" or matching Hawaiian shirt and shorts set (or even Cuban collar camp shirts...)

Whatever it's called, I love the concept of it being a beach-coverup. The looseness, the fun prints, the variety of ways to wear it, and somehow this menswear style can still look super cute on a female...I'm in!

Currently in my shopping cart:

3, 4

Or mini-skirt version instead of shorts!

Fashion Trends for Spring Break 2023 Review

So many interesting fashion trends this Spring! I'm on the fence with adding these pieces to my wardrobe so thought I do a bit of a review to help me decide:

1. Baggy Cargo Pants:
1, 2
Pro: reminds me of my high school days in the late 90's, so there is a youthful/cool-girl vibe
Con: these cargo pockets are usually non-functional and adds bulk to storage and takes longer to dry after washing. I guess the idea of the pockets could be useful for travel-wear if one wanted to hide things in the various pockets, but can also be a negative thing if one forgets what one puts in each pocket since there are so many.

2. Open-knit Crochet Fabrics:
1,2,3
Pro: Looks sexy without being too showy, great as a swimsuit coverup.
Con: For those of us who gets cold easily, the open knit can be too breezy, also snagging potential is high.

3. Textured Bubble Knit or Popcorn Fabrics:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Pro: This is fun and quirky, and gives off a girly-fashionista vibe. Great for editorial pictures. The textured fabric is usually stretchy, care-free that washes and dries fast (due to polyester content).
Con: Although polyester is wrinkle-care-free, it can feel sweltering, icky or itchy on the skin with the texture.

Which trends are you loving this Spring?

New Trend Alert: Long Cargo Skirts or any Long Skirts

It's strange when I see teenagers these days rocking what people wore when I was a teen (Y2K era)...it feels nostalgic, but certainly not a feeling of wanting to go back there. The teenage years were not my favorite years. I am however, enjoying the comeback of the "long skirts", here's to the styles I think are awesome this winter and will probably continue to be hot in 2023....

Trendsetter supermodel Gigi Hadid says she is recently a "skirt person" especially "long" skirts from this Vogue instagram piece, so that's validation that this is the must-have item of the season. I especially like the casual khaki/twill/demin vibes...

The long cargo skirts versions are perfect for resort-wear if one is planning on a balmy getaway vacation this winter. I saw this cargo skirt on a popular Foodie Influencer, Tue (@Twaydabae), when she recently traveled to Vietnam, and thought her ensemble was on-point!

Love Inspired Things

After seeing the new Beauty and Beast movie, I am falling in love with the music score again! Especially this medley:
