The It Sweater of the Moment

One of the weird pastimes I have is evaluating trendy sweaters of the year. Christmas week brought out some great statement sweaters for holiday 2021, beckoning into 2022 winter.

Olivia Palermo, who is the GOAT at trendsetting in classy styles, just had to make a Christmas greeting splash to all with this particular sweater.....I don't know what you call those little ball-y things...pom-poms, yarn-balls....which seems like they have been on-trend for awhile, but the shoulder flap/fold detail made it different. Almost 1980'ish feel, almost space-theme....almost like a faux-vest on a sweater. I thought it was a bit too much at first, but it's starting to wear on me.
Then a few days later, I spotted a similar sweater on Tiffany Hsu on a dinner date with Tina Leung....these are famous streetstyle fashionistas so whatever they are choosing to wear when going out, they are for sure trying to bring out what's new and cool to the world!
So cute, right?

Okay, so if I really wanted to update my sweater style, I'm thinking of trying these out....here's some similar ones on the market:

Forever 21 has the best dups....
(sale $34.99, which is still a bit pricey for F21)
but comes in white and lime green!

Express has some without the pom-pom balls, but the faux-vest detail is strong!
Nasty Gal has a more demure take on it, just the shoulder detail, no pom poms or extra knit textures.
ASOS also has some...
What do you prefer? With pom-poms or without?

Space-Dye Rainbow Ombre Sweater Trend

If you must gift a sweater this Christmas, definitely make it fun with a space-dye sweater! I was getting this advertisement of a gorgeous rainbow sweater from Anthropologie in my Instagram account but disappointed to learn the sweater, called the Virginia Sweater, has been sold-out. As luck would have it, I found a similar dupe at Forever 21 with small size still remaining. Which one would you prefer?

Anthropologie $$$ (sold-out) vs. Forever 21 $19.99 (on sale, almost sold-out)

Another great advertisement that showed up in my IG feed, is this ombre sweater from LOFT
(sale $25 with code: GIFTS)

Oh so pretty!

A Warm Cup of Beige

The color beige reminds me of cappuccinos and almond biscotti, a treat of warmth, romance, and happy times, so why not incorporate those feelings into my wardrobe right?

Breton stripes

Some stripes are just better than others. The classic Breton style stripes (thin black or navy lines on white) always looks fresh and cute in my book!  The F21 model in this breton stripe is gorgeous below:

Second round of lickable hues

Last year, I bought this lilac sweater at Forever 21, and haven't worn it much because:
1. It doesn't get cold enough in the sunny desert weather that I live in.
2. The wool blend knit with the pearl-embellishments require hand-washing. Lazy me tend to opt for machine-washable tee's rather than clothes than require extra maintenance.
3. I seem to have a mental-block when it comes to finding what to wear with this sweater.

Yet, I still keep the sweater because:
1. The soft lilac purple hue is so pretty and different.
2. I tell myself there will be random cold days (like today in the 60's ºF) that I would reach for this sweater.
3. The "Lickable Trend" outfit I posted last year was a hit (one of my favorite outfits).

Thus, sticking to what worked last year, I'm bringing out the pastels.

Do you wear pastels on pastels?

Bow flats

SPLURGE
I first heard about Massimo Dutti from Fast Food and Fast Fashion

DEAL
Doesn't it resemble the Massimo Dutti ones with the low heel?
I can probably fit into girl shoes size 3 1/2 or 4!
Ah, so cute!

Lickable Trend

Trying out the sorbet trend this winter....
1. Started out with a peach shirt (from Forever21 here) and my old BDG grazer (on $39 sale here):
2. Topped off with my Forever21 lavender sweater (similar here)
 3. Added a peach necklace (from H&M as seen on Stylish Petite)
4. Then grabbed my mint clutch (vintage from Ebay)
I quite like the result! Although wish I was more tanned with a J-Lo glow in these pastel colors. Must pile on the bronzer!

Are you into sorbet-pastels lately (especially J.Crew style)?
