Etsy Infatuation: Amigurumi Desserts

Did I ever tell you how much I love Etsy (ie. totes, clutchescharms, jewelry)?

Before the creation of Etsy, I was a sucker for arts and craft fairs, but now, I just go on Etsy to become enamored by the endless amount of creativity and one-of-a-kind items!

I mean, how cute are these knitted things! From Kelley Road

Grey-Green OOTD with a Pop of Purple

It's ironic that when I was in my teens and twenties, I dreamed of living "larger" where one day, I would have a huge walk-in closet full of beloved items in a mansion-size house, and I somewhat accomplished that dream with our 3,600 square foot home right now. But I learned that a big house just means a lot of work. As I observe how my aging parents and elders are with their declining physical functions, it seems that living large would eventually become too tiresome. Therefore, my ultimate goal is to become more minimalist in the next two decades since my husband and I plan on downsizing when we approach retirement age to one of those "tiny homes" or trailer homes in a retirement village. Thus I've been super conscious of reducing down to the most "essential" things when it comes to my treasured wardrobe and accessories.

One of my main strategies to reduce the amount of clothing and accessories is to change my clothing style into more "neutral" tones that goes with everything, like white tee shirts and black pants. But I don't want to give up on the joy of colors, since expressing myself with variety and colors brings excitement to my life. In order to keep my creative juices intact with my love of colors, I recently came to the idea that I can play with "small" details of colors that doesn't take up a lot of space, like in jewelry, a hair clip, or just a tassel on a keychain to hook on a purse...

.....and that's how I became obsessed with these handmade tassel keychains found on Etsy

4. Skinny jeans still fits
5. Mules and booties

Breton stripes

Some stripes are just better than others. The classic Breton style stripes (thin black or navy lines on white) always looks fresh and cute in my book!  The F21 model in this breton stripe is gorgeous below:

Zesty inspirations

1. My current favorite fashion ad campaign: bright coral dress, novelty lemon-wicker purse, and minty bow flats...how cool is this!
2. Now I'm seeing lemons everywhere! Especially loving this handmade reversible tote on Etsy:

Sweetest things

1. Ikea log-print tote: I seriously want to buy all the totes from NancyPKdesigns on Etsy. I've been spending too much time browsing through Etsy in general, searching for the next coolest print handmade bag.

2. Panna Cotta: I'm fortunate that my sister loves to bake all sorts of desserts and always makes too many (I'm not complaining, haha!) She's been experimenting with different flavored panna cotta each month. This month, it's Mexican chocolate topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle!

Blush skirt goals

I know my 2014 resolution is not to buy any fancy stuff, but I gave myself a few exceptions...

1. Must be a most-wanted item from my personal fashion scrapbook:
ie. Nude/Blush colored skirt
2. Must fit decently.
3. Must be something I can see in an Anthropologie catalog.
4. Must be compatible with other items in my wardrobe.

Well....I've been wanting to try a blush colored skirt for the longest time...and this was the first time I saw something close to what I had in mind (resembling skirt from The Fashion Pledge), so I had to try it out!
