End of Summer Favorites

August, when you are trying to hold on to summer with the sweltering heat and looking forward to the Fall, here's what I'm into lately:

1. Oversized Graphic Tee's: especially European vacation-theme print

2. Woven ballet flats: not too comfortable, but looks so pretty and delicate

3. Oversized Boxy Peplum Tops: it's like a dress but not

4. Patchwork Quilt Jacket: for cozy chilly mornings ahead

5. This Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres painting: perfect image of Fall fashion inspiration to come

What inspires you in August?

Effortless Outfit

I love everything about this outfit for practicality, comfort, and timeless style.

But the truth is, it is really hard to find a skirt that falls like this for petites.

Tailored Long Coat is Best Fall Trend for 2022

When it comes to fashion trends for Fall/Winter cold weather, it's been a long streak with Olivia Palermo as leader of the pack. This year, I'm feeling this long ankle length A-line, tailored coat with a fitted military vibe and shiny double-breasted buttons. If OP posts pictures of her coat three times on her Instagram and also in the IG stories, then you know, this is the "IT" item to put in your fashion inspiration bucket list!

($3,874 - no thanks to the price tag, but will try to find a more affordable dup)

A running contender of amazing Fall/Winter outerwear is Wendy from Wendy's Lookbook, who shares more affordable items and more petite-friendly sizing for us little ladies. When she posted this lovely long ivory coat in her IG stories, it provided confirmation that the long tailored coat is definitely the trend of the year!

($299.99 - doable for the wallet but wish it was double-breasted though)

What are your thoughts?
Maxi-length, ankle-grazing coats for the win?

I honestly love the practicality of the length to shield cold legs, especially when one must wear a cute short dress underneath and not yet in the mood for thick stockings or clunky boots.

Oversize Beanie Hat Trend 2020

I should really start a recurring post on headwear trends, since I love-love-love hats! For a person who struggles with hairdos, bald spots, huge forehead, sensitivity to the weather, hats are a lifesaver! For this Fall/Winter 2020, I see a lot of retailers pushing out French-style berets and bucket hats (almost like a promotion for the Netflix show Emily in Paris), but the trend that I find most captivating and refreshing on the streets is actually the oversize or elongated beanie hats, worn in a way where it sticks up at the top.

Inspired by Alexandra Pereira (coolest fashion influencer) and Delaney Glazer (coolest dancer)

While I was researching on "how to wear or style beanies" for myself, I kept seeing this peachy-pink Acne Studios hat that definitely deserves a recognition in the timeline of greatest fashion moments! Who knew this salmon color is quite versatile!

1, 2, 3
I'm not sure if I would spend $150 on this beanie, but I'm sold on trying to find a lower cost alternative with similar effects and color.

***Update 1/15/20***
Found a great dupe at Forever 21!
Doesn't have the iconic face-patch, and not as thick, but the color is very similar!
I would say this version is more incognito and wearable.

If anyone finds another good dupe, let me know in the comments!

The librarian

Every Fall and Winter, I gravitate towards anything that looks like the stereotypical "librarian" or "bookstore clerk." Lately, I've been loving these outfits that gives that vibe...

($478 - too expensive for a librarian though)

Also been obsessed with the "tailored vest" as seen on Cee from To Brighten My Day (also here). It's like wearing a blazer to look smart, but appearing less stuffy and more creative! Loving this flap-pockets grey wool one from Anthropologie
Speaking of libraries/bookstores...how hot is this guy sitting among books?

Soft purple hues and the great cape idea

Wanting to relax in something lilac.

And I kind of like this youthful, yuletide caroler vibe below:

Hooray for fall fashion ads

Rich textures, neutral palettes, structured silhouettes...this is why I love Fall fashion!

Here's some other ideas for Fall apparel:
(funny how my favorite Fall fashion doesn't ever go out of style; below are old catalog clippings from my ancient scrapbook)
Sheer and lace details are still relevant!
Lady dress suits in warm fabrics!
Layering and mixing prints in blue hues are still in!

And I love this Ivy League fashion post from Classiq
